Initial briefing and limited authorization

The timeline begins with an October 2020 Michigan State Police briefing and shows that PIN initially authorized a full-field investigation into prepaid cards but not voter fraud; it later allowed contacts with election and law-enforcement authorities to gather more information.

Prosecution position remained unsettled

The timeline says an AUSA did not expect prosecution in March 2024 and that officials advised in July that there would be no prosecution. By October, however, the U.S. Attorney was reportedly reconsidering prosecution and a PIN attorney sought the interview reports, so the final visible entry does not establish a final charging disposition.
